Beatrix Sword "Save the Queen" Tutorial

Hello^^ Here is your Misha again. It took a while but now I show you my first Tutorial. :D

I have planned for the convention "Dokomi" in Germany Beatrix from Final Fantasy 9 and this Tutorial shows how I build her sword.

The first time I've searched the Internet for pictures of Beatrix and her sword. And I found some pictures where the sword was already built by someone ... so I will not show here. The following image is from the Final Fantasy Strategy Guide 9

I have taken the measurements of the sword and came up with a total length of 130cm

2. Now I buy some wood and painted the shape of the sword an cut out the individual sections.  I've decided to build the sword out of a few parts which I stick together at the end.

You can see on the pictures that I've already painted the wood parts.

 3. Now I cut out the small parts for the Cross-guard.

I already glued some of them.

4. Now I put all parts togehter.

5. Now that both arches of the cross-guard where finished I ground on the edge.

6. I also ground on the edge of the two hearts for the middle.

7. Now I glued everything together.

8. The handle is wrapped with a red tape and I have painted some thing on the blade.

9. The next step is the cross-guard. I painted it gold.

10. Now there are following some extras like the black part on the handle and some lines on the blade.

11. The heart and the part under the heart will be painted in silver.

And the end of the handle will be beautifies

12.The last step are some extras. The red points should represent rubies.
